The Agony of Love

<-- back

That night you left, the moon turned cold
A story of betrayal, newly told.
My wounded heart, a field of stone,
Now in this world, I walk alone.
Ah, my heart, why do you bleed?
For a love sown from a bitter seed.

They say the river seeks the sea,
But what of love that abandoned me?
It carved a canyon, deep and wide,
With all my tears and wounded pride.
Ah, my heart, why do you bleed?
For a love sown from a bitter seed.

The nightingale has ceased its song,
The happy days, they seem so long.
The fire you lit, it will not die,
It feeds on every word and sigh.
Ah, my heart, why do you bleed?
For a love sown from a bitter seed.

I climb the mountains, steep and high,
And to the empty sky I cry.
The echo brings your name to me,
A chain of endless misery.
Ah, my heart, why do you bleed?
For a love sown from a bitter seed.

Yet still, I'll bear this weight, this pain,
Like winter bears the autumn's rain.
Though love has set, and darkness stays,
I'll meet the dawn in distant days.
So weep, my heart, and then be freed,
From this love sown from a bitter seed.
